The rumble started very well for Aftershock, as it was able to catapult Herbie into the air, and buffeting Electric Lunch into the corner. This time the weapon motor was mounted correctly, meaning the disk could spin properly. After another flip, Aftershock self righted directly onto Bronco's flipper and Bronco used this opporotunity to launch Aftershock out of the arena for an instant KO.Īftershock gets stuck on Electric Lunch's wheel.Īftershock next found itself in a rumble against Herbie and Electric Lunch. Eventually Aftershock started having movement problems as Bronco’s flips were actually starting to twist the frame. While Aftershock struggled to get its sri mech to function properly, Bronco took advantage and launched it into the air multiple times. This was really apparent in the opening seconds as Aftershock rammed Bronco but wound up launching itself into the air instead. Unfortunately, Aftershock's weapon motor was inadvertly mounted backwards, meaning that Aftershock's weapon was spinning in the wrong direction for the majority of the fight. VS89 was counted out, giving Axe Backwards the win by K.O.Īftershock first faced fellow former heavyweight Bronco. Soon, VS89 lost another front wheel and could only drive backwards as the weapon was dragging on the floor, after losing another wheel, VS89 couldn't move as its remaining wheel was lifted off the floor by the support spikes. However Axe Backwards managed to catch an angle where the resulting collision ripped off a wheel and the support spike on that side, making it impossible for VS89 to spin up its weapon. The match started in VS89’s favor, throwing Axe Backwards all over the place and not suffering much damage in return. In response VS89 went with its wedgeless configuration with the supporting spikes, fearing damage to their plow. VS89's debut match was against Axe Backwards. Time ran out and VS89 won a 3-0 judges decision. With about a minute left, HUGE's weapon motor burned out, which caused a chain reaction that killed the right drive. The match was very even, with both robots throwing each other over and into the walls. VS89 wasn't done yet as it competed in an exhibition match against the winless HUGE.

VS89 landed a single hit just before time ran out, despite this late effort, VS89 lost a unanimous 3-0 judges decision that knocked it out of the tournament. Rebellium took advantage of VS89's high ground clearance, resulting in VS89 getting thrown around. VS89 dominated the fight and won 3-0 when time ran out and advanced to the semi-finals, were it faced Rebellium. When time ran out, VS89 won a 2-1 split decision and advanced to the quarterfinals, where it faced The Razer.

VS89 struggled originally to overcome Viper's ground clearance, however it landed a hit that tore off one of its skirts, allowing VS89 to land several hits. Spine Tickler was counted out, giving VS89 the win and advancing it to the round of 16, where it faced Viper. Eventually Spine Tickler's hammer broke VS89’s weapon chain just before Spine Tickler ran over the killsaws and suddenly stopped moving. VS89 started on the back foot for the first half of the match, taking hit after hit. And advanced to the round of 32, where it faced Spine Tickler. However with 10 seconds left, VS89’s drive motors burned out, fortunately there wasn't enough time for a countout, and VS89 won a unanimous 3-0 judges decision.

VS89 was the aggressor, landing hit after hit and dodging Chomp's axe very well. It also went under a new name, Aftershock. In season 5, VS89 was completely rebuilt, it now has a much lower ground clearance, a proper feeder wedge, a self righting mechanism, and a double disk. Before Season 5, Hypershock was a reskinned Vertical Spinner 1989 built by Qwertythe300th.
